The new Gaylord Pacific Resort is finally expected to completely change Chula Vista! The giant 22 story building will house 1,600 hotel rooms and is the first of several projects along the Chula Vista coast. The resort is set to open in 2025 which will generate around 4,000 jobs and inject half a billion dollars into the local economy every year. Plans are already in discussion for a large mixed-use condo development right next to the Gaylord Pacific Resort and the Chula Vista Marina. Locals are excited for the “new” Chula Vista and looking forward to the future.
A partnership between the Port of San Diego and City of Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Bayfront redevelopment envisions a world-class destination in the South Bay – a unique place for people to live, work and play. It is designed to create new public parks and recreational adventures, improve the natural habitat, offer new dining and shopping options, provide a world-class hotel and convention center, and more – all for residents and coastal visitors to enjoy.
The Port of San Diego, City of Chula Vista, RIDA Chula Vista, LLC, Gaylord hotels, and hundreds of community supporters gathered together on July 27, 2022 to celebrate the start of construction on the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center project.
